About The Accelerated Five-Year Master’s Degree Program
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (COSD) accelerated five-year Master’s Degree Program in Speech-Language-Pathology pathology allows student to complete both pre-professional level and professional level (culminating in a Master’s degree) training in five years with the required credential for entry into the professional field of speech-language pathology. Students complete all required undergraduate level general education courses along with pre-professional courses.
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorder currently admits new students into the Accelerated Five-Year Program. The accelerated program is designed for students who are beginning their undergraduate experience. The five-year accelerated program in Speech-Language Pathology offers a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology, exclusively without an option of earning a bachelor’s degree.
Undergraduate Five-Year Accelerated Masters Admissions
The accelerated program is designed for students who (1) recognize their interest in pursuing advanced training in speech-language pathology at the beginning of their undergraduate experience.
Criteria includes:
- Have earned a high school or college average of a 3.5 GPA or better.
- Can maintain a grade point average once admitted to the program at Howard University of 3.0 GPA or better.
- Are motivated to complete five years of study to obtain the Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology.
