CHSOC Scholarships Application Is Now Active!
The Cathy Hughes School of Communications offers a variety of scholarships to support current students with the cost of attending Howard University. Students become eligible after completing their first semester. Scholarships are not automatically renewed, so students must reapply each year. All awards are applied to the Fall semester only. Applications close May 1, 2026.
CHSOC's 2nd Annual Research and Creative Works Day - Friday, April 17th
This Friday, join the CHSOC for its 2nd annual Research and Creative Works Day, “Rooted in Resistance: Communication to Transform and Empower.” Students and faculty from across all four departments in SOC will present their research and creative works that challenge us to critically engage in practices of resistance, empowerment, and transformation.
Join us Friday, April 17 at the ASA Building, which is behind Locke Hall at 2441 Fourth St. NW, Washington, DC 20059.

The Cathy Hughes School of Communications (CHSOC) is the third largest of Howard University's 14 schools and colleges. For more than 50 years the school has trained media and communication professionals through premier programs such as public relations, advertising, audio production, journalism, media management, film and television, legal communication, and communications graduate programs.
