The Howard University School of Communications offers a number of opportunities to partner with organizations and individuals that render long-lasting effects. Together with alumni, friends, board members, corporate, and foundation partners, have improved the school’s academic and intellectual pursuits and and strengthened the Howard legacy. Here are a few ways companies can partner with us:
Partnership Ideas
- Join the Adopt-a-Team program
This program matches a corporation with at least 8 students who then become brand ambassadors for the corporation on campus and learn details about corporate America from their industry partner.

- Team teach a course
To bring more real-world examples into the classroom, some corporations have begun team-teaching classes alongside our faculty. This generally involves spending one and one half hours, once a week on-campus. It builds the company’s brand on campus while getting to know potential employees and customers.
- Provide a professional in residence for a semester
Companies have loaned the campus a professional for a semester to teach classes, advise students, and work on special projects for the school. Such an experience allows the students to learn from a working professional and gives the company an opportunity to increase its brand on campus while contributing to its philanthropic mission.
- Recruit interns and full-time employees
Since all students in the School are required to complete internships, offering paid internships meets the students' financial and academic objectives while companies gain a dedicated employee. Likewise, graduating seniors offer companies possible talent as new full-time hire
