SLMC’s Malin Speaking at Collecting Change, Newseum

Dr. Leelanee Malin, lecturer in the SLMC Department, will share the stage with several panelists this Saturday, September 23 at the Women’s Business Center of Northern Virginia’s first-ever Social Entrepreneurship Conference. Entitled “Collecting Change: Grassroots Methods for Building Social Enterprise,” the event will draw businesswomen together to focus on using market-based strategies to address social problems while making a profit. Malin will speak on building a social media constituent base.

Malin will also be on hand as a panelist at the Newseum’s Teacher Open House. The all-day October 7 event gives educators an opportunity to sample NewseumED classes, tour the broadcast studios, attend gallery talks, learn how to navigate NewseumED.org and plan a field trip, and attend special programs and archivist sessions. Malin will take over the event’s social media as part of her participation.
