PR Majors Davis, Kamara Recipients of Prestigious Ofield Dukes Scholarship
Homecoming weekend brought many to the Howard University for fellowship and fun … and also brought good news for PR majors Rickey Davis and Salina Kamara. On October 21, David and Kamara attended the Black Public Relations Society of Washington DC‘s (BPRS-DC) Ofield Dukes Excellence in Public Relations Awards to receive the organization’s prestigious Ofield Dukes Scholarship Award.
The award recognizes students at the start of their careers who maintain a commitment to and competence within the PR field that mirrors that of Dukes, who incidentally was the founder of BPRS-DC.
A multi-faceted, social-media savvy and creative young professional, Davis is a senior public relation major and psychology minor from Saint Louis, Missouri. Currently, he’s pursuing a career in corporate communication as a strategic planner.
Kamara is a senior, public relations major, english minor from San Francisco, California. As an active participant in HU community, Salina is a member of Howard University Elite Models, the Transfer Student Association and the California Club.
