The planned Media Innovation Center will be a laboratory for innovation that combines research, learning, human-centered design, prototyping and entrepreneurship to explore the intersection of emerging media and technology. The center will serve as a high-tech classroom and incubator where students and faculty will work in teams with across disciplines with computer engineering, fine arts and business students and faculty to develop innovative and interactive ways of telling complex stories. We will work with media companies to develop strategies to engage new audiences as well as to create and spread persuasive messages using the latest media technology. Our goal is to foster entrepreneurship, ideation and product development in all forms of creative expression. The Media Innovation Centers will position the Department of Media, Journalism and Film to take advantage of new research and developments that impact our school and the university at large.
