A native of Kansas City, Mo., Neosho C. Ponder is an adjunct professor at Howard University. Her research foci include, social media, popular culture, interpersonal and intercultural communication, new media technologies, and family communication. While working on her Ph.D., she was teaching associate in the Department of Media, Journalism, & Film where she is now the instructor for the Journalism and Media Supervised Internship courses. Additionally, Neosho has an extensive background in non-profit program management, communication strategies, public speaking, program and event logistics, and social activism.
In May 2015, Neosho graduated with a Ph.D. in Communication, Culture, and Media Studies. Dr. Ponder holds a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication & Media Studies from Howard University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. An active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Neosho is also a member of The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, The National Urban League Young Professionals, Capital Cause, and the National Communications Association.
