Fredric Kendrick is an Assistant Professor in the Department Media, Journalism & Film. Kendrick came to Howard in the Fall of 2008 as an Doctoral student after teaching as a fulltime Instructor of Communications at Miles College in Birmingham, AL. Prior to entering academe, Kendrick held roles in local TV news as a morning show producer (WBMA), evening news producer (WIAT), sales account executive (WNCF), and field producer (Channel One News).

At Howard, Kendrick teaches undergraduate courses in Digital Media Literacy, Introduction to Media Production, Multimedia Storytelling, and more. Research interests include credentialing in local TV, and celebrity reputation management. Presented papers and panels include participation at the (2015) International Information and Communications Researchers and Scholars Conference in Havana, Cuba; (2010) AEJMC Southeast Colloquium; (2009) Graduate Research Symposium at North Carolina Central University; and (2009) Broadcast Education Association Convention.

Kendrick is a member of the Broadcast Education Association, the Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Broadcast Education Association, and the National Association of Black Journalists among others.
